Our Community

In a bid to strengthen the ties and build better relationships with the members of our community and our teachers, IndeaYoga is nurturing plans to introduce memberships and affiliations. Our intention is to create a close-knit international community of teachers and practitioners, and provide them a stronger platform for learning, sharing interests, discussions, and research and to simply connect individual yogis from different parts of the world. It is our duty to support our teachers worldwide and we believe this move will help them identify, recognize and establish themselves better. We welcome suggestions related to this; please feel free to drop in mails or contact us.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are more than 600 in number and are spread across 60 countries around the world. While every teacher adds his/her own flavor to teaching yoga, the distinctive methods taught at our institute are evident. The IndeaYoga style of Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga strictly adheres to our motto “Na hathat, na balath” meaning no force, no pressure. A good number of our teachers have built strongly knit yoga communities in their countries and that makes us very proud! At the end of the day, that is our major concern – to make yoga accessible to every human being on this planet. We believe that everyone deserves to be healthy and happy.

Yoga India is a fantastic mix of ancient yoga put into the context of our modern lives. I heard that this Shala had a fantastic reputation, is rated as one of the top yoga institutions in India and is focused on developing high caliber of teachers and that is why I chose to come here. My experience at this school was beyond my wildest expectations. Bharath Shetty and his team are passionate about sending well-equipped teachers out into the world because they believe in high standards. The course is so well structured that by the end of it you have amongst many aspects a thorough knowledge of philosophy, asana, physiology, meditation and pranayama.  Your days are filled with yoga teaching and you climb into bed after the evening mantras and mediation satisfied that not an hour was wasted in Mysore. Yoga India`s aim is to develop teachers of exceptional quality and I do believe that this institution is quickly becoming one of the leaders of yoga development in this era.

“It is only when the correct practice is followed for a long time, without interruptions and with a quality of positive attitude and eagerness, that one can succeed.” – Patanjali At IndeaYoga, the Foundation Sequence is the prescribed practice. The Sequence is developed by the Yogacharya after years of observation and study, backed by his extensive teaching experience. The practice makes one healthy and strong and is developed to bring about a balance between the ida and pingala (heat and cold) in the pranic body.

Health isn't a goal; it is lifestyle.

Our Beginner Series, formerly the Therapy Series, was designed at IndeaYoga for complete beginners as well as people with health challenges. The Arogya approach was developed to improve aspects of health and fitness in the practitioners. The asanas and practices allow the individual to transition into the next stage of practice, the Abhyasa.

Practice of Meditation and Pranayama techniques that instills a state of bliss on the individual. IndeaYoga’s vision is Health and Bliss for all; and the overall objective of our Arogya and Abyasa systems is to balance and stabilise our practitioners mentally and direct them towards the state of Ananda.
