Ashtanga Mysore Style

The term Vinyasa may be broken down into its Sanskritic roots to assist in decoding its meaning. “Nyasa” denotes “to place” and “vi” denotes “in a special way.” Like many Sanskrit words, Vinyasa is a term that has many meanings. Here at IndeaYoga, we interpret Vinyasa to mean a sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow, all the while linking the body movement with breath and mind. Vinyasa is used to enter and exit Asanas.  It is aimed to create a movement meditation that reveals all forms as being impermanent and for this reason are not held on to.   It denotes a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, connected to breath or pranayama in which yoga and mudra transitions are embodied as linkages within and between asanas.


There are no set pre-requisites for this course as the classes are entirely personalized. Beginners, intermediate and advance practitioners are all eligible to take up this course.

Course Curriculum

The Structure of the course is as follows:


  • Primary series
  • Intermediate series
  • Advance series

Note that everyone begins with the primary series in this course. Depending on your comfort levels and abilities, you’re promoted to intermediate and advance series.

Innovation classes (Evening Class)

Innovation comes with asanas relating to

  • Back bending
  • Hip opening
  • Inversion 
  • Balancing


Sat Sang includes Chanting, meditation, and lectures on topics related to yoga.

Duration and Intake

The duration is for Minimum one month

  • Classes will be conducted from Monday to Saturday.
  • Two asana sessions will be conducted per day.

Daily Schedule

 The session time will be communicated once you book your slot.

Morning session –  5:30 am to 9:15 am Flexible timings 

Evening session –  4:00 pm to 5:15 pm (optional)

Course Details

Dear Yogis,

Plan your calendar in advance for 'Ashtanga Mysore Style Classes' with Yogacharya Bharath Shetty.  

Months: Every month except in the month of March, April, and May.

Dates: The Mysore style classes are for a minimum of 4 weeks with mandatory registration. Students can join on any day of the month except Sundays and 29th, 30th and 31st of the month (as there would be no classes running on these days).

With accommodation, classes from 1st to 28th of the month are available

Days in a week:  Monday to Saturday

No. of sessions: once or twice daily (Optional )

Location: Yoga Dhama


Session Time

Morning session: 5:30 am to 9:15 am Flexible time 

Evening session: 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm


Course Fee (without accommodation):

300 USD for 4 weeks, 2 sessions (morning + evening)

200 USD for 4 weeks, 1 session (morning or evening)

Deposit to block your seat: 150 USD


Accommodation and Food: IndeaYoga provides Food and accommodation at Yoga Dhama. Students have the option of identifying their own accommodation.  

4 weeks: 25,000 INR.
